As Manchester buries its dead, our hearts go out to all affected by the senseless killing of their loved ones, including the parents of young children whose lives have been brutally cut short.
One can only imagine the intense pain of all who are in mourning. How do they make sense of what has happened? We can understand their shock, anger, grief and despair over their terrible loss. Some may even feel that God has abandoned them, but He certainly has not.
On the contrary, God is always there for us no matter what we are going through. As Psalm 46: 1-2 says: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear.”
